Facial Implants

Bone structure plays a critical role in facial attractiveness. The TOC surgical team has advanced training in facial construction and the desirable proportions of facial structures. Our surgeons’ keen understanding of the proper balance of eyes, nose, jaw, cheekbones, and face shape consistently yields extraordinarily natural and aesthetically pleasing results.

Facial Implants - Cosmetic Surgery - TOC Eye and Face

Implants can contour and build up weak areas of the face, improving symmetry and correcting undesirable facial proportions. Facial imbalances and irregularities are most often a matter of genetics, but may result from a congenital defect or even trauma or disease.

Changes to appearance can range from dramatic to subtle, depending on a patient’s condition and goals. The most common facial implants include chin implants (genioplasty) and cheek implants (malar augmentation).

Facial implant surgery is often performed along with other aesthetic procedures such as a facelift, rhinoplasty, eyelid lift, endo-brow lift, laser facial resurfacing, or facial fat transfer. Implant surgeries are typically performed under local or IV sedation anesthesia. They result in mild postoperative discomfort and swelling that may last few weeks. Risks of the procedure are rare, but can include asymmetry, postoperative infection, and, very rarely, nerve injury.

The surgeons of TOC are experts in facial implant surgery. They are often asked to lecture fellow surgeons worldwide on topics including facial implants. The TOC surgical team is committed to extraordinary results for every patient and dedicated to the uncompromising care required to achieve them. As a our patient you or your loved one will receive evaluation and treatment by one of our elite oculoplastic surgeons, each with advanced training in implant procedures.

Most procedures may be performed in an ambulatory surgery center setting. Outpatient (ambulatory) surgery helps to reduce hospital costs, personal expense, and length of stay for patients needing surgery. For those times when surgery is best performed at a hospital, TOC physicians have surgical privileges at all Austin-area hospitals and many ambulatory surgery centers.

We understand that any patient may feel anxious or apprehensive about treatment. Our goal is to help you or your loved one feel at ease. We engage each patient with sensitivity and respect for his or her individual needs.
